by our very own talented teaching professional, Chris Stoudt. Luke received the Player of the Week honor after
competing in the Boys 14 & Under Division at the IJGT Family

and facing frigid conditions, Luke placed fourth. To read more about

Congratulations to Sky Rink Figure Skating for its second place finish at the annual Yonkers Figure Skating Club ISI Competition! The competition was held at the E.J. Murray Memorial Skating Rink in Yonkers, NY on November 17, 2012 - Just two weeks after Hurricane Sandy. This is the fourth year in a row that figure skaters from Sky Rink's thriving Junior and Elite Prep programs won the second place team trophy. This year, the second place award was out of six figure skating clubs in the tri-state area.
Sky Rink professional coaches who participated were Denise Beaumont, Ali Blank, Helen Bowlin, Line Haddad, Marni Halasa, Bridie Myles, Maria O'Connor and Sarah Zanolli. Sky Rink coaches also assisted in judging the competition, which has been around for the past 26 years. Many skaters from Yonkers will also participate in the Chelsea Piers ISI Competition that will be held at Sky Rink during the first weekend in June 2013.
"We were so happy the girls skated as well as they did, given the circumstances of Sky Rink being closed, no power for weeks, a gas shortage, etc.," said Lori Berlin, a skating mother. "It's really a testament to the kids and just show where there is a will, there is a way."

Check out the CP Kids at the Trike-a-Thon! Held at the Field House basketball courts on Friday, October 19, our preschoolers rode tricycles to raise money for children's cancer research. Over $6,600 was raised in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital! Thanks to all that
contributed to this great cause.
Victory! Sky Rink defeated The Rinks at Chelsea Piers Connecticut 7-3 today in the first ever Chelsea Piers New York - Chelsea Piers Connecticut Hockey Showdown. The experienced CPNY team managed to outshine the upstart CPCT squad. The game was played at CPCT in Stamford. CPNY team captain John Stoble said, "We expected to win. Our team has played several hundred games together. We play to win."
The CPCT team has vowed for revenge when they play the return match at CPNY in November. CPCT coach Kevin Peel said, "We are a young team but I really feel we have the talent to take it to the NYC guys. If you look at their player information, it's obvious that they're basically over the hill. I expect us to bring our A game when we play next month in NYC." Stay tuned for schedule information and congrats to the CPNY team!
