Congratulations to Sky Rink Figure Skating for its second place finish at the annual Yonkers Figure Skating Club ISI Competition! The competition was held at the E.J. Murray Memorial Skating Rink in Yonkers, NY on November 17, 2012 - Just two weeks after Hurricane Sandy. This is the fourth year in a row that figure skaters from Sky Rink's thriving Junior and Elite Prep programs won the second place team trophy. This year, the second place award was out of six figure skating clubs in the tri-state area.

Sky Rink professional coaches who participated were Denise Beaumont, Ali Blank, Helen Bowlin, Line Haddad, Marni Halasa, Bridie Myles, Maria O'Connor and Sarah Zanolli. Sky Rink coaches also assisted in judging the competition, which has been around for the past 26 years. Many skaters from Yonkers will also participate in the Chelsea Piers ISI Competition that will be held at Sky Rink during the first weekend in June 2013.

"We were so happy the girls skated as well as they did, given the circumstances of Sky Rink being closed, no power for weeks, a gas shortage, etc.," said Lori Berlin, a skating mother. "It's really a testament to the kids and just show where there is a will, there is a way."
